Hi Nordic,
I have a user who has defined some macros in Word 2002. The keyboard
assignments that she made for them are lost after she logs off. The macros
appear to persist, but the keys are lost.
1. See if she's choosing a place to save the customizations. Default is
usually "all active documents", which is the same as Normal.dot, but she
could be choosing the current document, or its attached template, or a global
template.
2. If she's not specifically choosing something, have her go through the
steps and actively note what's appearing in the "Look in" or "Save in" list.
3. Then have her go through the steps and explicitly choose "Normal.dot"
(assuming these things should always be available)
If the macros weren't being saved, I'd say that changes to the Normal.dot
template were being lost. But if the one is being saved and not the other,
then it's something else.
If (3) doesn't help, then you need to check whether there are any Addins
(templates, COM Addins) interfering (overwriting the keybindings for
example).
