First, to have any chance of recovering the file, you must IMMEDIATELY stop
using the drive on which the Normal template lives.
If the work lost is extensive, I would use a professional data recovery
service, e.g.
www.ontrack.com.
However, they may only be able to be successful if you have stopped using
the affected drive. Most data recovery services charge an evaluation fee and
then give an estimate as a result of the evaluation
You might try using a file recovery program such as Undelete, but doing so
may make it harder/impossible for a data recovery service to find the lost
file.
And get yourself a backup program such as Dantz Retrospect to reduce future
damage.
