I'm clicking on two macros I've made to zoom text, and get message says "a
document with personal macro workbook is already open"

Have not got a clue about it. Thanks!

I guess you're rather clicking on a button. This happens
when you have (willingly or not) moved the "personal
workbook". So Excel is trying to open it from a different
location (as included in the link) than the current one
and can't open two workbooks with the same name, just the
ususal.

You simply have to make it through the "Customize..."
process again and affect your macro again. In the dialog,
you'll see two lines for the concerned macro, pick the one
that's already open (it's name is shorter).

If that doesn't correspond to what you're experiencing,
post back with a few more details.

Thanks Bernard:
I brought over two files from Excel X into Excel 2004. The files are called,
"Personal Macro Workbook", and "workbook". They are now in the 2004 folder
called Excel, which is inside Startup. Did I do something wrong?

No, you didn't. But remember that, when you created the buttons and attached
the macros, they were kept inside the "/Applications/Office
X/Office/Startup/Excel/Personal Macros Workbook".

Now, you run Excel 2004, and you have moved (or copied, just the same) your
Personal Macro Workbook" to the corresponding folder in the Office 2004
folder. So this one opens up when you launch Excel. And when you click on
the button, it'll go for the previous location (as it's the one that has
been memorized) and that's why you get the error message, as it's really
trying to open another folder with the same name.

So, as indicated above, you have to control-click the button and run through
the "Attach a macro..." process again. Then every thing will be fine again.

You know Bernard, this is starting to drive me crazy. It seems that after
doing this, some documents the buttons don't work, some do work. Or maybe
I should have done, this, corrected this on my personal macro workbook, and
that would make all new documents work well?

Trash your previous "Personal Macro Workbook", or at least rename it, in
oder to avoid any confusion. That way you'll only have one "Personal Macro
Workbook". So it'll help you to pick the right one when running through the
"Attach a macro..." process (and you'll have to do it for each button).
