When I place a new macros on the toolbar, it overwrites the one that is
already there. What am I dooing wrong?

I'm sorry, but I can't understand what you're DOING never mind what you're
doing wrong.

Can you please state your problem more clearly? Are you attempting to add a
command or button to a toolbar so you can run a macro you've written?

In what way are existing commands or buttons being replaced?

Gibbie:

Sorry, I'm still not getting it. Which version of Word are you using? Are
you using Tools > Customize to drag the macro onto the toolbar? If that's the
case, it's not possible to "overwrite" and existing command or button, you
can only insert them between existing commands or buttons.

When I customize the toolbar and add the first macros command, everything is
fine. When I create the second macro and also place it on the toolbar, it
overwrites the first macro.

Does that make more sense?

THANKS

I'm using Word 2003. I use Tools>Customize to drag the Macro command to the
toolbar. When I drag the second one to the toolbar, both Macros run the same
command. I have put them on different toolbars and they still run the second
command?

Thanks

Thank you for this article. I do understand how to assign a macro to the
toolbar. My question is that when I assign a second macro to the toolbar,
the first macro then acts like the second macro. In other words both macros
run the same command.

Don't you mean:
"In other words both buttons run the same macro."
???

The only way this cold happen is if both macro had the same name and were no
the same module, which the compiler won't allow.

Can you describe the name of the two macros, and the names of the modules
and projects where they are placed.

Salut!
