macros problem

How come whenever I use Office XP and try to open
something that has macros in it, it automatically disables
the macros? This happens most with excel.

Hi Danielle,

By default, macro security (Tools/Macro/Security) is set to "High" to
prevent macros from running due to the threat of macro viruses. Other
than High, the recommended option is Medium. If you use Medium Macro
security you will be prompted if a document/workbook contains macros
and you can choose to enable them or disable them.
