Macros9.dot

J Timothy

I downloaded the above file from Microsoft and installed it according to
directions -- it is NOT installed in the \startup folder. It is installed
in c:\program files\microsoft office\office\samples. My problem is as
follows: there are 8 individual macros listed under the toolbar of "Sample
Macros". When I run two of the sample macros (Font Sample Generator and Save
Reminder Install) I receive the following error message: "Microsoft Visual
Basic. Compile Error: Can't find Project or Library."

I am not at all familiar with this screen (the VBA editor) and find it very
confusing and daunting. Can someone tell me why I am receiving this error
and what I can E-A-S-I-L-Y do so that I have access to all of the sample
macros? Thank you in advance. I am running Word 2000 on Win98.

Hi J Timothy,

In the visual basic editor, select References from the Tools menu and make
sure that there is a checkbox against the Visual Basic for Applications and
Microsoft Word #.0 Object Library.

(#.0 will depend upon your version of Word 8.0 for 97, 9.0 for 2K, 10.0 for
XP and 11.0 for 2003)

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the
benefit of others who may be interested. Unsolicited questions forwarded
directly to me will only be answered on a paid consulting basis.

Hope this helps
