MacWord 2004 and 2008 side by side

I have Office 2004 on my Mac and am about to install Office 2008. But I have templates on Word 2004 that I am told will not work on 2008. So I want to run both versions, use 2008 regularly, but and 2004 when I need the template. Is this possible? It seems to me that it should be.

It is entirely possible. I'm doing it now (along with both XL04 and
XL08). Just don't try to use two versions of Entourage...

Just don't elect to delete Office 2004 when given the option by the
Office 2008 installer.
