magic keystroke for replacing automatic numbering

Roscoe

Somebody once told me the magic keystroke (ctrl-something?) to replace
the automatic paragraph numbering with hard numbers (Once I complete
the document I have to give it to a moron who will screw it up if I
automate, so I have to remove the automatic numbering first...go
figure)

I had a macro to do this but the normal.dot file got corrupted and now
I can't remeber how I did it. The search function is not working (I
must be using the wrong phrase).

help?

What it did was unlink all of my fields, turning them into their actual
values. Did not touch the paragraph numbering

My bad, Roscoe. That's for field results, not numbering. As a matter of
fact, I edited a book that's not been published yet. In it, Cindy Meister
provides a macro that does it. It's called Office VBA: Macros You Can Use
Today. I wouldn't take the liberty, but Cindy sure can post it for you.

However, and this is weird, if I execute a macro with the line
"activedocument.fields.unlink", it DOES change the numbers (I found a
document archived that had the original macro in it...saved!)

Odd...
