Magically appearing Chinese Characters?

Wierd issue - anyone seen chinese characters appearing in the scroll
bar window as you move across columns. I see this only after I turn on
autofilter for a column. The scroll bar window (bottom of the
spreadsheet) shows the english title of the column followed by the
chinese characters.

Yes, Microsoft knows about this problem. It does not cause any other
problems.
