I'm experiencing a serious issue when dragging an email in Entourage into an Exchange account Public Folder. When I move the email and then look at it in its new location on the public folder in Entourage all the mail attributes look correct. However, when I look at that same email in Outlook on a windows machine on our network - it is showing a different 'recieved' timestamp. In Outlook I see the date it was moved into the public folders - however back in Entourage everything is fine. How do I solve this.

In case I did not explain that well I will set up an example for you.
It is currently 2/5/2009 and I have an email from John Doe recieved on 12/22/2008. I am in Entourage and move the email from John Doe to a folder under our Exchange Public Folders. I then navigate to view that email in its new location - and it still shows that the date recieved is 12/22/2009.
Now I walk over to my coworkers computer on the same network - and navigate through Outlook to that same email in the Exchange Public Folder. However it reports that that email was recieved at 11:54am on 2/5/2009 - TODAY!?

Very confused and would appreciate any help on this. Thank You

Joel

Hi Joel!

This is a very common misunderstanding about dates.

The "Received" date will always reflect when a message has last been
copied. That means when it may have been copied from the server to
Entourage or in your case from Entourage to the public folder.

Instead, select View --> Columsn --> Sent, which always shows the one
date of the message when it was actually sent. That's hard-coded into
the message whereas the Received date is a reference created by the
E-mail application.

Hope this helps!
