Mail error

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Email Client: pop

I continue to receive the following when retrieving one of my POP email accounts:

OK IMAP4rev1 Server Ready (Metra 1.0) Could not retrieve mail.

Account name: "CAW MediaBridge One Account" Error: -16997

I set up the account according to the specs provided by my ISP.
