Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: pop I am a Mac noob, wanted to use Entourage in hopes that it was similar to Windows Live Mail. The problem that I am having is this: when Entourage downloads my emails from the server it does not download the folder headings. All of my emails in different folders that I've set up in my account automatically go into the Inbox. Is there a way that I can have Entourage show the folders within the respective accounts, sort of like in Windows Live Mail?

You have connected to your account as a POP account instead of an IMAP
account.

Go to Tools --> Accounts... and delete your POP account. Your messages
will remain in your Inbox. Then set up your account again but this time
connect to your account using IMAP.

Hope this helps!

Ok, will do. Do you know what the settings are for connecting to Windows accounts using IMAP? The default setting is for POP.

Are you asking about a Windows Live account? They no longer support IMAP.
Otherwise please explain what you mean by a Windows account?

Precisely, I have an MSN account and a Windows Live email account I wanted to set up. When I did it in Outlook 2007 all of the folders were transferred over, that does not seem to be the case with Entourage 2008. It seems as if I would have to recreate all of the folders on the server and individually reassign each email that I have. When the emails are downloaded from the server all of them go straight into the inbox with the exception of a few.

When you did this in Outlook was this prior to the change over in Sept to
POP? The only way I know to do this now is to forward your Hotmail to Gmail.
They offer IMAP accounts. Gmail can receive as individual folders.

I guess it did change. Actually I tried to get Gmail to retrieve my msn accounts and that came back as POP as well. I just created a new gmail account and will begin to migrate all important emails to that account. Very disappointed with microsoft right now. From my WinMo phone to MSN, everything except Xbox 360 but they'll find a way to mess that up to, I'm sure
