mail gets received into one folder, sent from another

Bob

I've set up an IMAP account as the only profile under Outlook. When I start
Outlook, there are two folders: "Personal Folders", which contains the Inbox,
Notes, Sent Items, Calendar etc... and "UT" (the name of the profile), which
contains an Inbox and a few other mail folders.

I receive email in the "Inbox" of the "UT" folder. But when I send a new
message, it gets sent from, and is stored in, the "Sent Items" subfolder of
the "Personal Folders" folder.

How do I set things up so I'm only using the "Personal Folders" folder

that's how it works in outlook - you'll need to set up a rule to move items
after they are sent.
