I have good mail that keeps going to the junk mail folder despite having added the domain to the 'safe domain list'. this happens to mail that is being sent to many people at the same time. any ideas how to solve this?

You must have a rule that is moving the message. The most likely culprit is
the Mailing List Manager (MLM). It's very easy to set up a MLM rule by
accident, when you are marking a message as 'not junk'. The wording of that
dialog is ambiguous to say the least. Check if there is an MLM entry (look
for MLM entries under the tools menu) with the incorrect destination folder
as the target folder. Mailing List Manager rules run before your other
rules.

thank you Diane. I have no mailing list manager rule nor do any of my other rules categorise the documents as junk. i checked all of them. can you think of anything else?

Entourage doesn't do this on it's own. Something has to be moving the
messages.

Have you checked the contacts to be sure they are not marked as junk
category?

I checkedit's not in the blocked senders list of the junk mail filter but on top of that i have now added the sender to my addressbook and it still goes to junk mail. and when i click on the link on the addressbook it pulls up the right message. i am going crazy with this.

I know I sound like a broken record, but Entourage does not move messages to
the junk folder that are in your Address Book unless a rule is moving it.

There are 3 different kind of rules in Entourage:

Mailing List Manager (MLM)
Junk Mail Filter
Rules (custom rules you create)

They run in the order listed above. The custom rules also run in the order
they are listed. (top runs first)

Please look again at the Mailing List Manager. I can't tell you how many
times we get feedback that they have no rules, but eventually find it's a
Mailing List Manager rule.

Can you send me a screenshot offlist or post via ImageShack of your rules
and Mailing List Manager window.

You can post a screenshot link using a service like ImageShack.

How To Post Screen Shots To Newsgroups

1. On your keyboard, press Command-Shift-4.
2. On your keyboard, press the space bar.
3. Click the window you want. A picture file will appear on the desktop.
4. Go to http://imageshack.us/.
5. Click Browse, then navigate to and select the picture file.
6. Click "host it!".
7. Paste the "Show image to friends" URL in a newsgroup message.

I have never heard of database corruption causing this behavior, but you can
try a rebuild. If you do the rebuild, make sure you make a copy in the
Finder first...extra insurance in case the rebuild copy goes bad.

How to rebuild:

I'm interested in this discussion because I'm having the exact same problem. My Mailing List Manager window is empty, my Rules window is empty, my Junk Mail Filter is set on Low. The problem is not consistent; I can receive two messages on the same day from the same safe domain, and one will appear in my inbox while the other is sent to Junk.

Add the contacts to your Address Book and they will not end up in junk.

Setting your junk filter to low might be the cause. You could try setting to
high to see if that works.

I have not found the safe domain feature to be the best way to deal with
spam. It's best to add the contact to your Address Book. The JMF never
assigns messages from contacts in your Address Book to the Junk category.
