Mail merg-recipients list-contol headings and date format?

n Word 2003 mail merge letters are easy, but the recipients list has two
difficulties for me. The headings selected by Word are not the best for me,
can they be controlled.
Secondly, my date settings are English UK but in this table only they appear
in American sequence. Not serious but I would like what I am used to. Thanks.

When you say the "headings selected by Word", I guess that you are using the
AddressBlock field. Instead of doing that, just insert the individual
mergefields from your data source in the configuration that you want them.

To get the dates to appear in the correct format, you will need to connect
to the data source using DDE. To enable access to that option, from the
Tools menu, select Options and then on the General tab, check the box
against the item "Confirm conversion at open." Then when you attach the
data source to the mail merge main document, a dialog box will appear asking
for the method by which the connection should be made.

For more information, see the "Dates: day/month reversed" item under the
"Connection methods" topic of the "Mail merge in Word 2002/2003" section of
