Mail Merg with excel Spreadsheet

I have imported data from excel xp spreadsheet into Word
xp to use in mail merg, but when completed the merg the
dates from the merg are in American ( mm/dd/yy), in the
spreadsheet the field for Date is set to english Uk (
dd/mm/yy) also the regional settings are set to UK English
has anyone else had this problem and knows how to sort it
out....

I have tried what out what you tried.. but when i changed
the format of this large spreadsheet it changed all the
dates... E.g date was... 26/02/78 the text would be 28547
and this document is very large, and to amend all the
dates would be more of a problem.... anything else you
could suggest...
