Mail Merge and Publisher 2003

Have a flyer created in Publisher and a data source created in Excel 2003.
Every time I try to open the data source using the mail merge wizard it comes
back with the message " The operation cannot be completed because of dialog
or database engine failures. Please try again later"

Appreciate any help with this problem.

I don't know if this will help, the error is the same, but the database referenced is
Outlook
"The operation could not be completed because of dialog or database engine failure"
error message if you use Outlook contacts for a mail merge

Are your MDAC components current? You might download the component checker to see if
you have a mismatched component.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've run the component checker and it's given me
a clean bill of health. I've looked at the Knowledge Base and apart from
this reference I find anything on this error. It appears to be one of those
little mysteries.
