I was using Windows Me, Microsoft Access 2000 and Microsoft Word 2000
and mail-merge to create hypertext links for records. Some records
didn't need a hypertext link and I used an IF statement to control
this ([alt] + [F9]). I used { symbol 147 } and { symbol 148 } to
replace the apostrophes in the html code.
Unfortunately, my computer died on me and I had to use a laptop. I
installed the same versions of Microsoft Access 2000 and Microsoft
Word 2000 onto the laptop but the operating system is Microsoft
Windows XP Home Edition. The hypertext links that I generate with my
laptop look identical to those generated by my old computer (which are
currently on the internet) except the apostrophes are slightly bigger
and when I click them I just get an error page stating the usual "The
Page Cannot Be Displayed". I think the apostrophes must be the problem
since when I switch them over with ones in the original hypertext
links it works.
Please let me know what the solution is to this problem.
