Mail Merge corrupts tables

I am merging from an Excel sheet saved as a text, tab delimited file. The
Word doc also includes Word tables that do not have any fields located in
them. When I merge to the Word doc, the tables return wrong equation
results. What's wrong and what can be done?

What is being recalculated if the tables do not contain fields? Presumably
they must contain at least a formula field? You need to describe the
document and the problem in a little more depth. The Office version would be
useful also.
