mail merge doesn't use custom font

Karl

Hi,

Maybe someone could help. I have a table that I am using for a database to
make labels, lists, etc. My table (database) works fine until I use it for
my file labels. It makes the fonts of the first cell in each page Times New
Roman 12pt and all others are Times New Roman are 10 pt. Anyone know how I
can have Word remember my fonts during the merge. I have WinXP, Word 2000,
and Avery label 6571.

Thanks all,

Karl

Apply the font formatting in the mailmege main document (i.e. to all labels)
not in the data source. If necessary, toggle on the display of the field
codes with Alt+F9 and add a \* charformat switch inside the closing } and
apply the desired formatting to the m of mergefield.

Doug,

I am sort of a novice. You are saying format my fonts etc after I do the
merge? Can you show me an example of "add a \* charformat switch inside the
closing }" and where I do that exactly? Also, is there a good mail merge
tutorial around you can recommend?

Thanks!

No, before you execute the merge. Press Alt+F9 when you have the mailmerge
main document active.

{ Mergefield "LastName" \*Charformat }
