Mail Merge & Email - emails only look like they are going out

Hi,

I've used the email mail merge function in the past with
Word 97 without a glitch. Now, with 2002, The mail merge
process seems to be working (at an accelerated speed
which I question), but there are no sent items in my
Outlook box, and I've used myself as a test and am not
receiving anything either.

Is there somewhere that I need to set up my email
parameters in Word so that it picks up Outlook and
actually sends out the mails?

Broadly speaking, Word 2002 mailmerge /should/ work with OL 2002. But plenty
of things have to be right. I wish I could tell you what they were but there
are still plenty of unknowns...
a. Let's assume you have used OL 2002 at least once to send mail in the
normal way...
b. do you have multiple profiles? - when you log in to Outlook ,do you log
into a different profile than the default
c. is Outlook the only e-mail client you have ever used/installed on this
system? if not, worth checking that the mapi32.dll typically in the
c:\windows\system32 directory is the standard MS one (depends on your
version of Windows among other things).
