When I try to perform mail merge for labels (Christmas-time, you know) I can
go from scratch okay; i.e. create document, create data source, enter data,
layout document, and perform merge.
When I come back to a new document and attempt to open an existing data
source the program gives a segment fault ("Cannot write...") message and
closes Word down. This leaves the data source file in locked status, so I
can't even open it directly. Further attempt to open a new document and
reference the existing data source puts me into a loop of some sort, since
the program becomes non-responsive.
I have tried doing an install/fix, but Word still won't let me in to a) use
an existing data source, or b) edit an existing data source.
I have searched KB with no joy. Is this a known bug and is there a fix?
Meantime, I have exported the data source files to Excel and loaded them
into Access, where I can produce labels just fine.
