Remove the protection.

So how do I fix it?

Hi MCHR,
From what you've posted, I'm guessing you've protected the document
for
forms. Apart from limiting your editing options, such a
document is incompatible with mailmerge - which would explain why the
mailmerge option is greyed out.
Cheers

I have created a letterhead word template. Don't want to stop anyone
from
doing their own formatting just to stop access to the header and
footer.
Almost good but the mail merge is greyed out.
