mail merge- increment one field when document opens

I have created a mail merge document with text that says:
phone: xxx-xxxx-xxxx ext xxxx. I want to increment up
one digit the extension number each time the document
opens. How can I do this? I am using Office 2003.

Hi Vivian,

What you probably should do is add another field to the datasource in which
you have the extensions numbers.
