Mail Merge label formatting

As far as I can tell, when creating mailing labels, you
must format the text at the time of creating the labels.
ie..if you want to amend the formatting of the labels
once they have been created, it seems you have to
recreate them all over again, rather than amend the
existing labels.

Is this correct, or is there a way to amend the
formatting without recreating them?

Hope someone can make sense of this, and give me an
answer. Thanks in anticipation!

You only need to edit one label on the merge document then propogate the
results (or with older versions copy and paste) to the other cells.
