Mail Merge Label layout.

Why do I get this on the label

Mr B Bloggs
24 The Street
Overthere
WARWICK, Warwickshire, CV11
3GH

when I thought I had laid out this:

Overthere
WARWICK

CV11 3GH

I can alter it as often as you like but it comes back wrong.
Word 2002; matching Outlook; label L7161; tried through Word and through Outlook. Contact subfolder looks like the latter layout.

You appear to be using the address block. Insert the individual fields. If
you start the merge from Outlook you can access *all* the fields. The field
you probably want is the Mailing_Address field. If you start from Word it is
the Postal_Address field you want.

Thank you Graham. I did not know that Address Block was anything special.
In what must now be 20 hours of trying and searching KB etc I haven't come
across anything defining it as being different from selecting any other
field. You will no doubt tell me where to look.
It has been a frustrating business. I know the programs have to be versatile
in order to cover all the more specialised needs but I would have thought
that a few pre-programmed setups for the most common needs would be
available. Something like 'Click here to print mailing labels for the
Contact subfolder on view onto Avery label Lxxxx'. Now it is like buying a
motor vehicle as a flat pack - assemble in the order of your choice every
time you want to go to the store.
Thanks are due to you for your help.

The addressblock is a special type of field that combines address fields in
a particular manner. It may be fine if you are American, using US format
addresses, but for elsewhere (and probably America also) you have much more
control by inserting the individual fields that you require.
