Mail Merge Labels Issue SP1

C

Char Gorak

We are creating Mail Merge labels from an Excel2003
spreadsheet using Word2003. If we use a machine that has
About Microsoft Office Word 11.6359.6360 SP1 as the
version number we only get the top three labels to show
up when we complete the merge. If we use a machine that
has About Microsoft Office Word 11.6113.5703 all of the
labels show up just fine and we have no problem. Has
anyone else had this problem after they installed the SP1
or have any ideas what the problem is OTHER than SP1?
Thank You

After looking at this again I see it is not a version
problem - it seems that on some machines (regardless of
version number) the <<address block>> does not copy to
all of the labels - only the top three and sometimes a
couple on the bottom. Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks-Char Gorak

OK, machine-specific problem... Is everyone sharing a data
source, or do the users involved each have their own data
sources? If the latter, are they all using the same
application to store the data?

Is this also happening with new label documents you're
setting up, or only with some existing ones?

If you hold CTRL when starting Word (to start in Safe Mode)
does the problem go away when you set up a new merge?

This happens on ALL label merges - and it happens with new data material - no
one is sharing anything. It does not go away even when I start Word in Safe
Mode. I think we have it narrowed down to being TABLET specific. Peter
Jamieson said he was going to report it because he was able to recreate on a
Tablet that he has. I think that our University is going to report also.
Thanks you for your ideas. If you have any other ideas I would love to hear
them.

Hi =?Utf-8?B?Y2dvcmFr?=,

Right. I ran across that discussion after I'd answered, here.

The only other thought that occurs to me would be to contact AVERY over their
website and ask if they've heard of the problem and perhaps have an answer.
Avery provides their Label Wizard for setting up and creating mail merge
labels, so it's possible they may already know something.

The other thing I'd check is whether you can: set up a table with the same
number of rows and columns as the label sheet; type some text into every cell
and print. Does it skip the same cells?

I'll be interested in finding out anything you discover :)
