Mail Merge - max field size?

Noel

Hi, I posted something similar to this in the Queries
section yesterday (called Urgent for Duane Hookom re
Concatenate) but no reply yet. Sorry to double post but
this is a bit urgent. I have set up a mailmerge document
which uses a field constructed in a query using a
Concatenate program from Duane Hookom. I dont think there
is a problem with the concatenate - it seem as if there is
a maximum number of characters that the document will
accept in any given field. My concat field cuts off when
it reaches around 240 characters - it just stops mid line.
If I go back into access and change the contents of one of
the fields used by the concat program then it cuts off at
a different place in the MM doc. So its definitely a size
thing. Does anyone know anything about this? If there is
some kind of limit set, how can I increase it?

Thanks, Noel

Noel:
There is. The limit for a text field is 255 characters max. The
default is 50.
Use the Memo data type if you need to store more than 255
characters. A Memo field can store up to 64,000 characters. Memo fields
can't be indexed or sorted. If you want to store formatted text or long
documents, you should create an OLE field instead of a Memo field.
Both Text and Memo data types store only the characters entered in a
field; space characters for unused positions in the field aren't stored
