Word 2000
We have a mail merge document that we are having a small problem with. If a
user opens the document through Word, or by double-clicking it in Windows
Explorer, the mail merge option is available on the menu as it should be.
However, when I email someone a link to the file, and the file is opened by
clicking on the link in the Outlook message, then the mail merge option is
NOT available on the menu.
I think this might be a setting on the local computer because it used to be
that I could email the link to myself, open the file using the link, and do
the mail merge. But just recently we had to reinstall Windows XP, and now
if I do that same exercise, I am not able to do the mail merge.
So the question is: Why is the mail merge option not available when the
file is opened by clicking a link in an Outlook message?
