I have Outlook and Word 2000 .
I only use the "Mail Merge" function once each year when I address
Christmas Cards so , consequently , I'm not very "hands-on" in the use
of this facility.
I use Avery Standard A4 Mailing Label Sheets and manage to get these
to print mostly OK but , occasionally, some of the first line of the
printed label is slightly cut-off at the top on some sheets.
This is probably due to the sheet not being inserted accurately enough
into the printer but , to avoid such annoyances in future , I would
like the first line of these label addresses to be placed slightly
down from the top edge of each of these labels but do not know how to
arrange this.
These labels , although presented for printing on Word , are generated
from a Contacts List in Outlook.
The only reference to alignment I can find which seems appropriate to
Mailing Labels is in Word using the Tables and Borders Toolbar by
selecting individulal "cells"
Is it here that I can change the vertical positioning of the first
address line so that this will not be partially cut off later in the
created A4 page of Mailing Labels ?
This partial "cut-off" happens , I presume , due to small errors in
the A4 positioning in the printer tray becoming magnified as the
printing procedes down the length of the A4 sheet .
If this is where such Mail Merge alignment should be done , then I
sahall continue this post in the appropriate MS WORD NG.
