Unless you take the time to accurately describe exactly what you mean the
only suggestion is that you check to make sure all updates are applied,
repair disk permissions & restart your Mac.
This vague one-liner may seem obvious to you, but all it does for anyone
else is raise the question If the Mail Merge Pane isn't *open* how can you
click it in the first place?".
I open Word, then I go to Tools and click on Mail Merge under tools, but the Mail Merge Pane does not open when I click on the Mail Merge Banner (under Tools).
As always the first thing to confirm is that Office is fully updated -
12.2.4 is the current level. Any time you apply updates it's also a good
idea to run Disk Utility - Repair Disk Permissions & restart the Mac.
If that isn't (or doesn't resolve) the issue go into the Customize Menus &
Toolbars dialog. On the Toolbars page click on the name of the Menu Bar,
click the Reset button & see if that fixes it after you OK out of the
dialog.
