Mail merge & Publisher

When I try to choose a source for the mail merge and I choose a data base
file that is a Microsoft Excel comma seperated value file or a Microsoft
Excel worksheet. I always get a window that pops up that says... "This
operation cannot be completed because of dialog or database engine failures.
Please try Again later." Any help would be really appreciated.

See if updating your MDAC components and Jet helps

I am getting the same errror message during a mail merge into publisher from
excel. The downloads didn't affect me, I have XP professional sp2. Any other
suggestions?

The solution is the same as before, this article addresses Word, but it is valid
for Publisher.

You could have mismatched MDAC components. There is a link to the checker in the
above Knowledge Base article.

after following your download instr for both links, I received the following
eror mesages:
re:2.8 SP1-"this setup doesn't support installing on this operating system"
re:Jet-"Setup detected SP version newer than update, no need to install"

Any other suggestions?

Have you done a "detect and repair?"
