Help me in Silicon Valley

Greetings,

I searched the achives for a post but could not find one, so my appologies
if this is a repeat.

XPSP2 O2K3(Build 6113)

I have an Access datasource with 828 records and whether I merge into email,
new document, fax or printer, I get a failure after 128 records. I did this
with a one page letter and a three page letter and each case the process
failed after 128 records. I closed all applications and ensured all TSR
processes that were unnecessary were unloaded. All cases received the failure
after the 128 records were processed.

Is there a limit on the number of records allowed in a mail merge?

Cheers.

Is there a limit on the number of records allowed in a mail merge?

There probably is, but it should be far, far larger than the number of
records you are talking about.

If your data source is a text file or an Excel file, it may be worth trying
to ensure that there are no unmatched double quotes in your data (e.g. some
people use them in fields containing lengths in inches), especially with
older versions of Word.

There have been a number of reports here about recent versions of merge not
merging all the records. However, the people in here do not work for
Microsoft so you may need to report the problem to them. Other than that, it
may be worth trying to change the way you connect to your data source.

Please Help

Peter,

I figured out the error was due to the records having numbers between .000
and .005, so when they were rounded showed a zero value, that were then
divided. This happened to be the 129th record. So once I added the limit of
1, the problem fixed itself and removed the 9 errant records. Things are
good.

Thanks for the help.

Cheers.
