Mail Merge to Email only produces plain text

Images and formatting disappear when I mail merge to
Outlook from a Word document I'm using Office 2000.

Ideas?

That is all that is possible with Office 2000.

The technique in the following article could be modified to email the
document created for each record as an attachment.
