Mail merge wizard doesnt work

when i try to use the mail merge wizard to open a word document that ive
already set up it opens the document and then gives me an error message.

Ive set up the word document and merged it from word to a query in access
called MergeStudentTenancy, it works but is hard work as i have to put my
password in twice and it seems to open up 2 copies of the database. It merges
but its longwinded. So i tried to run the mergewizard from access and after
selecting the correct document and the query to run it from, it throws up an
error message:
'Word was unable to open the data Source'

I eventually want to be able to open this merged docuemnt from a form but i
cant even seem to get this to work!!
