Mail Merge

Whenever I do a mailmerge from excel to word, all of the
zipcodes that start with a zero on excel lose the zeros
in word, so all of the zipcodes come out wrong

Open your Word document
Go to Tools on menu bar, select options...
under options select General Tab...
There you have different check boxes...
Please Check the box which says " confirm conversion on
open"
click ok

Open your document when you select your DAta source file
from browse...
make sure you get Confirm Data Source Dialog box
In that dialog box lets click on options whch says
MS Excel Worksheets via DDE (*.xls)

Now your Zip codes should be correct after merge.

If this not reslove you issue....
In confirm Data Source Dialog box
select Excel Files via ODBC(*.XLS)

This will help you to do your merge.

Please send reply if this works fine.

Thank you.
Have a nice Day.

This method is referenced on the web page I referred to earlier, but for a
simple formatting issue is a lot more trouble than applying a formatting
switch to the field. Because of changes in the way Word now connects to its
data sources, the raw data is inported and Word is expected to provide the
formatting.
