We purchased several copies of Office Professional and Basic, when executing a mail merge, the Dollar sign is lost in the Word Document, even though the column in the Excell document is Currency. What's up with that?

Formatting in Excel is really an overlay in the current document. When
pulling data from an external source, only the value of the field or column
is actually transfered between programs. You can re-add the formatting in
Word by simply appending a $ in front of the merge field in the document.
