Mail Merge

Normal template keeps wanting to change and when cleared
up I now have 8 mail merges loaded onto my tools menu. It
adds another one each time. I have virus protection on my
computer.

Both symptoms of the pernicious Microsoft Works Suite Add-in for Word. If
you're running Word freestanding (not starting it from the Works task
launcher) and have no expectation of using a Works database or address book
as a data source for a Word mail merge or starting a merge from Works, you
can safely uninstall it (through Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs), and
you'll be much better off in every way. After you've done so, open Tools |
Customize and drag all but one of the Mail Merge entries off the menu.
