Mail merge

I've created a mail merge DB that works great as long as
it is mdb.When I create .mde the Mail Merge Wizard gives
an error message that the db is locked for editing by
another user and displays trash.I've read somewhere that
the mail merge wizard doesn't work with MDP.I'm not sure
if it will work with mde.Does anyone know or has tried
this?

Just in case somebody runs into this problem here is the
solution I found.I have just renamed mde extencion to mdb.
It works great.
