Mail Merging excel to word-excel format for cells doesn't follow

Please help!

I am trying to mailmerge from excel into a word document
with windows 2000. No matter how I format my cells in
excel (number w/ 2 decimals, text, etc) the merged data
comes across with xx.xx99999999999999999 for the numbers
instead of limiting it to the 2 decimals. Does anyone know
how to fix this? Thanks

In your word doc. press "Alt + F9" to display your merge
fields.....then insert the formula below.

{ your mergefield \# "$,#.00;($,#.00)" }
