Is there a way to set the default destination folder as Drafts.....?? At the moment the email merge sends messages to the Outbox.....you have to remember to set Entourage to be offline if you want to do any work on the generated emails otherwise they're sent before you can get to them.....!!

If you usually mail merge to the same group/category, consider putting a bad
address in the group (either a nonexistant address in your same domain, or
one that is completely illegal - like with a space or comma in it). If
Entourage tries to send the message it will error out, without the message
being sent. (You may need to do some experimentation to find one that works
with your account.)

Once you are satisfied, you can go into the message and delete the one bad
address.

Hi Adam,

I understand what you're saying except for...won't Entourage just still send all messages to good email addresses and just not send to the bad address....?? Or are you saying the presence of one bad address will force Word to dump it and all other generated messages to valid addresses into Entourage's Drafts folder.....??

If the bad address is LOCAL to your ISP/SMTP server (ie: a Comcast user
generally can't send to a Comcast address that doesn't exist), or if it's a
completely illegal address, then Entourage won't send. But if the bad
address is on some other service, the message will send and then you'll get
a bounceback.

But make sure you test it before you do this for real. Depending on your
particular SMTP server you might have to experiment a bit before you find an
address that Entourage won't send to.
