I export to a .txt file from collection software that I
use. I currently export specific letter information to a
file, add a header row(a,b,c,d,e etc..) and then open the
document associated with the file that I created.
I have the ability to export all letters at one time and
can add a specific identifier to each row of data ("1"
would signify letter 1) Is there a way that I can merge
all that info with out running a specific query in the
mail merge to coinside with the letter requested. For
example:
Data file:
a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,i,j,k (header row)
1,name,addr1,addr2,city,state,zip
2,name,addr1,addr2,city,state,zip
5,name,addr1,addr2,city,state,zip
6,name,addr1,addr2,city,state,zip
I want to be able to process this file somehow with word,
so as I merge it would know that it should open .doc named
1 and then merge and print that info, then open letter 2,
and then 5, then 6. Is it possible to do this?
