Mail Message Triggers Change in Email Editor

Outlook 2003. Exchange Server 2003. We have a phenomenon that is happening
to everyone who receives email from a certain person. When we try to reply
to any email coming from this person, we get the following error:

<Microsoft Word is set to be your e-mail editor. However, Word is
unavailable, not installed, or not the same version as Outlook. The Outlook
email editor will be used instead.>

We all have Word 2003 installed and it works fine as the email editor for
all other emails. Thus, Word is available, installed, and the same version
as Outlook. When the Outlook email editor comes up we get this error:

<One or more ActiveX controls could not be displayed because either:

1) Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this
page
2) You have blocked a publisher of one of the controls>

What could be causing this? How can we fix it (other than going into
Options and rechecking "Use Word"? Thanks for any help you may give.

The "ActiveX" error I get from the Outlook email editor (once Outlook has
made the switch) seems to be due to something in the original message (the
text of the original message is included when I reply).

When I select to not include the text of the original message, I do not get
the Word error, and Word comes up fine as the email editor. It appears that
there is something in the body of the original message that is triggering
this error......

What could be the problem???
