Mail moved to a file folder but remains inmy sent items

I move an e-mail to one of my File Folders, but a copy of the email
remains in my Sent items.

Have you seen this occur before? Do you know what the cause is?

Any help will be appreciated.

How did you move it? If you clicked and dragged it, unless you chose "Copy"
I don't see how what you describe is possible. If you mean you used a rule,
then that's the way it works as long as you have the "Save copies of
messages in Sent Items folder" option enabled.

Thank you Brian, this is actually for an atty that works at our firm.
I will check with him and see how he is moving the emails.

I have a client that is running into exactly the same problem - a copy stays
in the Inbox when the message is clicked and dragged into another folder. I
have seen it happen and it _is_ possible, but I can't figure out how to stop
it either.

Any ideas out there?
