Mail not going to Outbox

I just got a new laptop, I copied my old .pst to it, then I added it in along
with my archive .pst. They show up fine in my Folder list - everything is
there - BUT it's very odd, when I send an email, it just vanishes. It doesn't
got through the outbox, it never gets bold like it should when it gets a mail
and it doesn't show up in sent items though I have save a copy in sent items
selected.

Is there something anyone can suggest? Is it going to some other outbox
somewhere? Any help would be much appreciated.

One other thing I just noticed but don't understand. On the title bar where
it says Inbox, it says (filter applied). I've never noticed that in my old
configuration. BTW, I'm using Outlook 2002 on Vista if that makes any
difference.

OK, I figured out how to turn off the filter, nevermind that part of my
issue...

Ok, one more piece of the puzzle, when I go to close Outlook, it says "You
have mail in your outbox, close anyway?" But when I click on Outbox, it's
empty. Where could that other outbox be?

I don't know what I did, but it's fixed. I shut down Outlook, and it gave me
some message about my personal folders changing - I said ok, now it works.
Gees, sorry for the unnecessary messages.
