Mail Notification - Outlook 2000/Windows XP

When I get incoming mail via Outlook 2000 on a Windows XP machine, I get an
audible beep from my CPU/Computer instead of over the speakers. Is there a
way to change this?

I trust the other sounds work (i.e. there's a sound card installed and
working)?

In Control Panel, choose the Sounds applet. On the Sounds tab, what's set
for "New Mail Notification"?

There was no sound item associated with New Mail Notification.

So I set one up and everything works fine now.
