This question concerns reconfiguring Windows Mobile Device Centre (WMDC) so
that Outlook 2007 will correctly synchronise with my PDA running Windows
Mobile 5 -- after a profile and file location change.
To overcome address book problems in Outlook 2007 (following a corrupted
male profile after using Windows Easy Transfer) running on a Vista PC, I
created a new mail profile to fix the problem. I was also recommended to
relocate the two .pst files to a new folder in My Documents on my separate
data drive and I have done that. Outlook 2007 runs fine.
But I have run into problems synchronising with my PDA. First of all WMDC
crashed so I then deleted the PDA/PC association, reconnected and set up a
new one which seemed to work fine.
I am left with another problem -- a number of my contacts contain embedded
items such as birthdays and anniversaries. If I change/delete any of these
in Outlook it causes WMDC crash the next time I use it. When I look into the
contact entry in Outlook the birthdays/anniversary appears as a hyperlink
which is connected to the calendar in its old file location.
Somehow I need to reconnect these links to the .pst in its new location.
Help.
All advice welcome, Simpleuser
