Mail recipient (again)

I have Word 2003 and Outlook 2007
The mail recipient icon is grayed out and mail recipient 'send to' under
file is also grayed out ON word.
I added both of these from reading the same question on here.
How do I get it to function?
Is it a setting on OUTLOOK I should be looking for or on WORD?
Hope this makes sense.

Outlook 2007 cannot use Word 2003 as e-mail editor so this will not work.
You can use the send to as attachment function which will open Outlook's own
editor ( a subset of Word 2007).
