Mail with removed attachment still huge

Hi,

Trying to cut down the size of my PST file, I periodically remove
attachments and make a note in the email of what has been removed.

However, sometimes (after removing the attachment) the size of the email
doesn't change, and if I look at the email data using View|Options it is
clear that the attachment data is still in the mail (even though no
attachment icon is shown).

So an email with a couple of sentences in ascii format and no attachment
(according to Outlook) is over 1Mb in size!


Anyone have any ideas on this?

have you compacted the pst file?
