Folks,
I have a user who hit their mailbox limit last night, so from home I
(temporarily) removed all Exchange mailbox limits, till I could come in this
morning and figure out what has happened. What I found this morning is that
she accidently deleteed a folder from her mailbox that was by itself 1.8Gb,
and it now shows up under "deleted items" in her mailbox. She has many
subfolders. When I try to delete them (we still have the folders in her old
..pst file), I get a myriad of errors:
"Unable to delete this folder. Right click the folder, and then click
properties to check your permissions for this folder. See the folder owner
or your administrator to change your permissions. The file C:\Documents and
Settings\user\Local Settings\ Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.ost
has reached it's maximum size. To reduce the amount of data in this file,
select some items that you no longer need, and then permanently delete them
by pressing SHIFT+DELETE. You could also consider switching to Unicode mode
and using the new Offline Folder file (.ost) introduced with Outlook 2003
that provides greater capacity for storing items and folders."
When I try to delete individual folders or files, I get this message:
"Unable to delete this folder. Right click the folder, and then click
properties to check your permissions for the folder. See the folder owner or
your administrator to change your permissions. Outlook has not finished
synchronizing local changes made to items in this folder. You cannot delete
this folder until the synchronization with the server is complete."
Searching MS.com hasn't yielded any help. I would like to just delete this
folder and all sub folders/files, but it won't let me. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Mike
